    Minutes from 4/15/2020 Call-In PNWBA Board of Directors Meeting

    NOTE: This was the last official board meeting until August due to having no upcoming and canceled events and little business to discuss.

    12 of 15 members present for a quorum.

    The President called the meeting to order at 6:36 pm.
    Agenda

    Approve minutes
    Motion to approve the minutes from the March call-in meeting was passed with changes from the board’s prior email discussion. Steve will post the amended March Minutes to the forum.

    Of the people who did get refunds, about 120 incurred fees. North storage went up about $25 per month. Feed the troops, 3 teams donated spring fair donate their entry fees and some from judging fees. $800 in total. Some transferred to their membership fees or donated to the organization.

    Treasurer's Report/Update – Lance/Paul
    Current profit of 4k with about 2k of refunds and approx. 3.5k of revenues from Spring Fair. If you backed all those out would show a loss of $1,300-$1,500 at this point. Refunds still in progress. 
    A motion to accept the treasurer's report passed.

    Committee Reports:

    Event Committee – Bill
    All-inclusive event Beaverton Pitmaster BBQ Cookout!. Charity event for High School. Target 16 teams with a $4,000 Prize. August 29-30. They are interested in a possible judging class. No cooking demos or class. They might add a Steak Category. This replaces the OR Bacon Championship from last year. Possible 2-day turn-ins, i.e. small meats day 1 with the big meats on day 2. Different ideas are being considered. No deposit received yet. The board approved a motion to sanction this competition contingent upon receiving a deposit.
    With the current pandemic environment, the event will need to make a final call 7-10 days prior to the start date whether it will go or not.

    Pasco – has canceled until 2021.

    New sanctioning applications?
    None outstanding.

    Jane said that we have a new insurer for our event coverage.

    Update Spring Fair – Pat
    The Fair is meeting to determine the fate of the 2020 Spring Fair. It is unlikely to happen.

    No info from Vail on the Whistler competition at this point.

    A motion passed to adjourn the meeting and it was adjourned at 7:30 pm

    The next board meeting will be a phone meeting on May 20 at 6:30 PM.
