The President called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm.
Approve minutes - Steve
Motion to approve the minutes from the April 2022 meeting was approved. Steve will post the minutes to the forum for the membership.
Treasurer's Report – Lance
Lance emailed the March Financials last week. Still waiting for expenses to be turned in for the in-person meeting. Financial committee approved. Motion to approve the Financial Reports approved.
Committee Reports
Event Committee – Bill
New Sanctioning Applications
Camp Korey – new competition – Sep. 17 & 18. Vending 75% to teams. Possibly limiting to 20 teams this first year. Prize purse $20-30,000. Board approved the motion to sanction this event.
Redmond Oregon cancelled due to low team turnout.
Oak Harbor – will not happen in 2022 – possibly next year.
Tunnel Days – Not going to have a BBQ event this year.
Famous Dave’s probably won’t be PNWBA if it occurs.
Spokane – No new information.
Camp Korey – JD, Rhana, Pat, and Christine visited last weekend. Feels there is room for 30 teams regardless of weather. Discussion about whether we could hold Judging or cooking class? - Maybe Kids Q?
Benton City Daze – on website – PNWBA Sep 9 & 10, but sanctioning paperwork was not not submitted at this time.
Erik Lindeblum – Community outreach chair. Mission Outdoors is a veterans organization that helps veterans be outdoors and on the water tuna fishing. Can it for other purposes. Considering partnering with PNWBA and plug into some of their events. Tuna classic – banquet on 8/6 or other stuff throughout the day. Hawk Alley might be another place to plug in.
Events:
Kalama
Sanctioned comp continues with planning and is working with the health department to allow for sampling. 100% of sampling money going to teams.

New Business:
Operation BBQ Relief - Dale Technically the area coordinator for OR & WA. Working hard to resume and increase communication. Interested in FTT, homeless initiatives, . Have BBQ classes for veterans and first responders. PNWBA will keep in contact with OBR to help understand how we can help.

Head Judges should be paid their normal expenses and mileage for working events that the Board has approved to sanction/support with no cost to the organizer. , i.e. Standard reimbursement as with any other competition. Passed
The next board meeting will be phone-in meeting on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 6:30 pm.
