The Vice President called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm.
Approve minutes - Steve
Motion to approve the minutes from the March 2022 meeting was approved. Steve will post the minutes to the forum for the membership.
Treasurer's Report – Lance
Lance was traveling and not able to present the report, however the board approved the financials sent earlier without questions for him.
Committee Reports
Event Committee – Bill
New Sanctioning Applications
Prosser – proposing a full-service 4 meat competition up to 30 teams. Friday load-in, Saturday comp. on 6/11 Approximately $4,000 prize pool Motion to sanction approved by Board.
Camp Korey – new competition – Sep. 17 & 18. Vending 75% to teams. Possibly limiting to 20 teams this first year. Prize purse $20-30,000. Board approved the motion to sanction this event.
Events:
Kalama
Sanctioned comp continues with planning and is working with the health department to allow for sampling. 100% of sampling money going to teams.
Old / unfinished business:
Spring Fair
Was a big success in 2022. 2019 gross 19k and this year $50,679 which netted PNWBA approximately $10,000. 1 team donated vending proceeds to PNWBA charity.
New Business:
Dale – Asked for an Initiative to recruit judges and pitmasters in under-represented areas. Ideas include small backyard events (2-meats). Asked to put this to the Training and membership committee to work on this. Dale will set up a meeting with committee heads.
The next board meeting will be phone-in meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 6:30 pm.
