'ANYTHING BURGER' COMPETITION

This is an Ancillary Event to the Big Smoke in Little Kalama BBQ competition.

There are three groupings for Anything Burger. Kids group is 6 years old through 10 years old. Junior group is 11 years old through 15 years old. Adult is 16 years old and older.
Each Kids and Junior team will be provided 1.5 lbs of ground beef to produce at least two burgers for turn-in plus any extra they want to make for testing or turn-in as part of the competition. No other meat can be used besides what is provided these two age brackets. Adult teams will bring whatever ground meat they desire (not limited to just beef) to turn in at least two burgers.
Total prize money will be based upon the number of paid entries we receive. Additionally, the winners of the Kids and Junior Category will receive a small charcoal grill.

Load in times:
Friday, June 28th, noon until 8:00 pm, Saturday, June 29th, 6:00 am until 10:00 am.
NOTE: All vehicles must be out of the arena by 9:00 AM on Saturday. No driving after 9:00 AM.
This range of times to load in more directly affects BBQ teams. Those that are cooking solely for the burger category can carry in their equipment and supplies just about any time as long as they arrive before the cooks meeting
Site Inspection:
- Saturday June 29th - 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
REQUIRED Cook’s Meeting:
- Saturday, June 29th at 1:00 PM - 1 member from each cook team required to attend, no exceptions.
Turn-In Times Saturday 4/29:
Kids (ages 6-10 years) 3:00 pm (between 2:55 PM and 3:04:59 PM)
Junior (11-15 years) 3:30 pm (between 3:25 PM and 3:35:59 PM)
Adults (16 years and over) 4:00 pm (between 3:55 PM and 4:04:59 PM)
Rules for Anything Burger:
- All contestants will provide their own buns, condiments, cheese and any other toppings they desire.
- Open garnish with sturdy entry tray/platter limited to 20” x 20”. No live animals, fire or tippy (you will have to carry entry across a very crowded venue) presentations allowed. Skewers, toothpicks are allowed but must be visible.
- While you are required to turn in at least two complete burgers, we recommend you submit at least one cut in half for appearance. The turn in team will cut your whole or half burger if needed to make the required 6 portions.
- Fuel for cooking is limited to charcoal, wood pellets, or wood. No propane or electric allowed.
- For Kids and Junior brackets, minimal assistance from adults but at least one adult must be present during cooking process.
- Entries are not guaranteed to be served in order of arrival at the turn-in table. If your entry requires it to remain at a constant temperature (heat or cold) during the judging process, that source must be provided by you and must not interfere with showing and serving of the entry. Suggested source for heat would be hot pack or similar and suggested source for cold would be dry ice or cold pack.

Awards:
- Awards for 'Anything Burger' on Saturday June 29th at 6:00pm (or earlier if processing completes earlier)
Load out times:
- After awards but before 9:00 PM on Sunday night.
Quiet Hours:
Between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM
Entry Fee:
Entry fee is $25.00 USD and is non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation by the event coordinator, $20.00 will be refunded from the entrant’s payment. Regardless of the situation, a designated amount of $5.00 from the entry fee is non-refundable to cover payment and event processing expenses.
Entry Payment Due:
Entry fees must be paid at the time of registration.

Power - Teams mus bring their own extension cord and is limited to 20 amps.. The event should have enough power for all, but it is suggested that you bring a quiet power generator as a backup.
