PNWBA Classes

The Pacific Northwest BBQ Association offers several types of BBQ training classes throughout the year for cooks and judges of all skill levels.

Our Pitmaster classes are designed for competition cooks who want to sharpen their skills and learn how to compete at a higher level. These classes often cover meat selection, trimming, seasoning, cooking methods, timing, and turn in box presentation.

Backyard classes are perfect for those who love cooking for friends and family and want to improve their everyday BBQ skills. These classes focus on practical techniques, flavor building, and simple steps you can use right at home.

We also offer Certified BBQ Judge classes for those who want to become trained judges in sanctioned competitions. These classes teach scoring standards, judging procedures, and what to look for in appearance, taste, and tenderness.

For experienced judges, we provide Table Captain classes. These sessions prepare you to lead a judging table, manage scorecards, and help ensure a smooth and fair judging process.

New classes are added throughout the year in different locations across the Pacific Northwest. We encourage you to check our event calendar often for upcoming opportunities.

If a class fills up, be sure to join the waiting list. Many classes open additional spots, and waiting list members often receive early notice when new classes are scheduled.
