Registration

  • CURRENT PNWBA CBJ's - Select if you would like to be considered for a seated eating judge or be used in other volunteer areas. Seats are not guaranteed and will be assigned by the head judges either prior or at the event.
    You must be a current PNWBA certified judge to be seated.
    Judges who are KCBS certified, but not PNWBA certified may sign up, however, PNWBA judges have first priority and KCBS judges may be moved to a waiting list so that a PNWBA judge may be seated.
    If you are not a PNWBA certified judge or a KCBS certified judge, you will not be seated.
  • RESERVED for class attendees of the 2024 Judge Class Friday Nov 8th that want to judge - a few spots have been reserved for your first judging opportunity.
    DO NOT SELECT IF YOU ARE NOT TAKING THIS CLASS.
  • We need 6 table captains

    You must be a current PNWBA certified judge to be a table captain.
  • Select if you do not want to be considered for a seated eating judge and would only want to be used in other volunteer areas.

Get ready for an unforgettable weekend of BBQ, competition, and fun at the Clearwater Casino! Don’t forget to register separately for the Annual Awards Banquet happening the same evening.

Entries from both competitions will be judged by the same panel of judges.

Signup Information:
To register for the event, make sure you're logged into the website with your email and password.

We are looking to fill the following roles:

  • 30 Certified BBQ Judges (PNWBA certified). This may expand to 36, so please join the waitlist if full.
  • 5 Table Captains (may expand to 6, so join the waitlist if full).
  • 3-5 Volunteers (Food Runners, Meat Wranglers, and general helpers).

Please note: Signing up does not guarantee a judging spot. Due to the dynamic nature of the event, we may need to adjust. If fewer judges are required, we will reach out to ask if you’d be willing to volunteer. The final selection of seated judges will be determined by the head judges, and table adjustments will be made to balance experience levels.

Waitlist:
If all positions are filled, please sign up for the waitlist. At our last event, several waitlist members were called upon to participate.

Schedule for Saturday, November 9th:

  • 9:45 am: Arrive early at the venue
  • 10:00 am: Judges' Meeting followed by the Table Captains' and Volunteers' Meeting

Turn-in Times:

  • 11:00 am: Pork
  • 12:00 pm: Brisket
  • 1:00 pm: Chicken
  • 2:00 pm: Ribs

Note: Turn-in window is 5 minutes before the hour to 5 minutes after.

Accommodations:
PNWBA has secured a block of discounted rooms at Clearwater Casino for $129 plus tax. The discount ends on October 13th, and the discount code will be provided in your confirmation email after you register.
