Registration

  • Reserved for judges taking the 2026 Fly-In Pig Judging Class on 5/15. Limited reserved seating. Special Code Required.
  • Existing PNWBA and/or KCBS certified judges only.
    Select if you would like to be considered for a seated eating judge or be used in other volunteer areas. Seats are not guaranteed and will be assigned by the head judges either prior or at the event.
  • We need table captains and prefer judges that have taken the table captain class or are at least a junior level judge.
  • Select if you do not want to be considered for a seated eating judge and would only want to be used in other volunteer areas.

2026 Myrtle Creek Fly-In PIG

This is a fully sanctioned traditional 4 meat PNWBA event and the second annual 2025 Fly-In Pig BBQ Competition is coming to Myrtle Creek, Oregon. There is a total prize purse of $10,000.

Part of this event will have airplanes of various vintage that will fly in to the airport for the public to view.

Open to the public for the best in BBQ sampling, the event will also include regional craft beers, wines, ciders and spirits, bluegrass music and BBQ demos. We will have a "Kids Activities Fair", Wildlife Safari Petting Zoo, Camel Rides, and Tribal Salmon Bake and other scheduled activities. And, as with other events at the airport, it is a fly-in venue with regional plane enthusiasts who park their planes for public viewing.

Signup Info:

Important... If you are a PNWBA CBJ, you should be logged into this website with your email and password in order to access the registration for the event. It is helpful to know your judging number. You can view this by clicking on your profile and looking at your membership information prior to registering.

At this time, we are planning on 9 judging tables, but that number may be adjusted up or down depending on updated team count. We strongly recommend that if you are asked to be on the waiting list to please sign up in case it expands.  Judges will be selected based on earliest signup date.

We are initially looking for the following:

  • 54 Judges. Judges will be selected with preference for PNWBA Certified BBQ Judges. If you are not a PNWBA CBJ but are a KCBS CBJ, you will be welcome, but expected to either take the PNWBA judging class or be on site at least by 8:30am for instructions.
  • 9 Table Captains. Preference will be to certified as Table Captains.
  • 9 Volunteers, i.e. Food Runners, Meat Wranglers, and general helpers.

Due to the fluid nature of this event, signing up does not guarantee a judging spot. Please be willing to volunteer as needed. Should there be a reduction in judges needed, an email will be sent to see if you would wish to volunteer.

The Head Judges will make the final assessment of volunteers and choose the seated judges. Tables will also be adjusted by the Head Judges at the event to try and even out the judge levels and experience.

Important: This event has been designated as a qualifier for the $1 million dollar BBQ World Cup competition, so we are expecting a large number of teams traveling to compete. If we reach the initial limits, we will start a waiting list and begin to expand the limit on teams and move judges from the waitlist to the active list.  

By signing up to judge/volunteer you hereby grant full permission to the PNWBA, Fly-in Pig BBQ Competition & Chili Cook-off, BWC and/or their agents authorized by them, to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings or other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. Waitlist:

Please sign up for the waitlist if initial spots are full and we need to expand to a additional tables. We had to use several folks from the waitlist for our past events.

REQUIRED Judges Meeting:

  • Sunday May 17th at 9:45 AM.  Get here a bit early to participate with the teams in the Jack shot.

Awards:

  • 5:00 pm (or earlier when possible)
    Subject to change depending on event processing.

Turn-in Times:

  • 10:55 am to 11:04:59 am – Chicken

  • 11:55 am to 12:04:59 pm - Ribs

  • 12:55 pm to 1:04:59 pm – Pork 

  • 1:55 pm to 2:04:59 pm - Brisket

Lodging - best choice and good value can be found in Roseburg, about 22 miles north of the event.  There is an RV park near the event.  Check with the Event Rep for details.
