The President called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.

Discussions

Approve minutes - Steve

Motion to approve the minutes from the November 2022 meeting was approved.  The new Secretary will post the November meeting minutes once they take over.

Ballot error

The Board recognizes that there was an editing error on the 2022 ballot.  The position of Secretary was mislabeled as Treasurer. By the time it was noticed, the electronic ballots had already been sent out. The application used for voting would not allow a change.

Ratify Elections
29% returned their ballots.  All retiring board members have been replaced.

This board meeting was primarily to ratify the results of our recent election.
Results of the election are as follows:
Christene James - Elected as Vice President
Diane Mee - Elected as Secretary
Jason Hertz - Elected as a Board Member
Sheldon Koehler - Elected as a Board Member
Dale Groetsema - Elected as a Board Member
Bill Stock - Elected as a Board Member
Karen Stral - Elected as a Board Member

The Board approved a motion to ratify the election.

Committee Reports

Events

The board considered 4 sanction applications. All passed motions to approve by the board.

• 1.    Kalama – coming back – has been meeting to create bigger event.  June Sat. 24-25   They are planning to expand to 25+ teams and may need to expand outside of arena.  Interested in a possible judging class.
• 2.    Sutherlin Oregon165 miles South or Portland.  New event – 4-8k people expected.  Sampling on Sat.  July 14-16.   Big Cornhole event.
• 3.    New event - Hillsboro Elks competition.  Looking to make an annual event.  July 28-29. 
• 4.    Enumclaw expo center – Up to 50 teams.  Sep 30-Oct 1.  6k prize.

Rib Rally 4/1. PNWBA will sponsor with judging, trophies, and donation.  $750 to fire station, and 750 Leukemia society.  Board passed includes donations and expenses.  Jason will donate trophies.

JD will reach out to Wayne about Chili and BBQ comp status for 2023.

New business

Recognize error for Secretary vs Treasurer.  It wouldn’t allow change.
