The President called the meeting held by “Go to Meeting” to order at 6:30 pm.
Discussions
Approve Minutes – Diane
Motion to approve the minutes from the June 2023 meeting was made by Lance, and seconded by Karen S. The motion was voted on, and was approved. Diane will post the minutes to the forum for the membership.
Financial – Lance
The Director’s and Officer’s insurance has been renewed.
Moving the dedicated funds from Lynn Brokaw’s memorial fund to the chili competition is complete.
The funds income and outflow during the last 3 months has been pretty standard for the activities of the association during this time of year.
A motion was made by Christene to approve the treasurer’s report, it was seconded by Sheldon, and it was voted on and approved.
Committee Reports:
Events – Bill S.
Misson Outdoors, Westport, WA– This event is supporting the Misson Outdoors veteran’s group, by cooking 4 meals for them in Westport over the weekend of August 11th-12th. Breakfasts and dinners, including one being their banquet dinner at the end of the weekend. Misson Outdoors will provide the meat and associated foods for the meals.
The PNWBA needs to provide volunteers, cookers, equipment, and rubs. Eric Lindeblom, Christene, Jason Hester, Jason Aqui, and Dale G. have volunteered to be at the event in Westport.
Grandview, WA – There is a youth rodeo scheduled during the upcoming Grandview Fair, and it was proposed that the PNWBA would attend to do demonstrations, build relationships with the organizers, and understand their facilities, for next year’s 4 meat contest. One of the organizers owns a butcher shop.
Camp Korey, Mount Vernon, WA – Sign ups have occurred, and teams need to select their sampling meats from the list that Pat Maddock has circulated.
Enumclaw, WA – The event registration form for the teams needs to be posted ASAP. It will be a 4-meat contest with water, power, garbage pickup. Sampling on both days, with a 75/25 split. Teams will be paid by check for their vending sales before they leave the event.
There will be 12-15 breweries, along with bands at the event as well.
Training – Karen S.
There will be a judging class Friday, November 10th from 3-6:30pm at the Clearwater event.
Announcements:
The next meeting will be held by Go To Meeting on August 30, 2023 beginning at 6:30pm and ending at approximately 8:00pm.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Christene at 7:30pm and seconded by Bill S. The motion was voted on and approved, and the meeting was adjourned.
