The Vice-President called the meeting held by “Go to Meeting” to order at 6:30 pm.
Discussions
Approve Minutes – Diane
Motion to approve the minutes from the July 2023 meeting was made by Sheldon, and seconded by Karen S. The motion was voted on and was approved. Diane will post the minutes to the forum for the membership.
Financial – Lance
The funds income and outflow during the last 3 months has been pretty standard for the activities of the association during this time of year.
There were 2 events in July, and the registrations for Camp Korey and Enumclaw have been received.
There was a refund issued for a judging class.
A motion was made by Bill to approve the treasurer’s report, it was seconded by Karen, and it was voted on and approved.
Committee Reports:
Events – Bill S.
Myrtle Creek, OR – There is a new event at the Airport Aviation Field, south of Roseburg, OR. $10,000 in prize money, and the organizer is requesting judging classes and cooking classes in the area. There are many local teams who would participate. The date of the event will be May 17-19, 2024. (This event was sanctioned by the board of directors by email vote on September 16, 2023.)
Spokane, WA – This event will be at the Spokane County Fair Grounds. There will also be a SCA Steak competition, and chili. This date conflicts with the SCA Worlds in Texas. It would be a standard 4 meat.
Clearwater Casino/Annual Meeting/Feed the Vets/VIP Dinner – Suquamish, WA
This event begins on Wednesday, November 8th and goes until Saturday November 11th.
Fed the Vets, VIP Dinner, Judging Class, BBQ Contest, Awards Banquet.
There was a motion made to add $2,000 to the prize purse that the Clearwater was putting up. The motion was seconded, and it was voted on and approved.
Announcements:
The next meeting will be held by Go To Meeting on September 27, 2023 beginning at 6:30pm and ending at approximately 8:00pm.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Christene at 7:15pm and seconded by Bill S. The motion was voted on and approved, and the meeting was adjourned.
