The President called the meeting held by Google Meeting to order at 6:35pm.
Discussions
Approve Minutes – Diane
A motion was made to approve the minutes from the June 26, 2024, meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Christene and Jane B. seconded the motion. The motion was voted on and approved.
Diane will post the minutes to the forum for the membership.
Financial – Lance
Lance reported that everything is on track financially. The yearly D&O insurance was renewed.
Lance reminded those present that there are timing differences between when the revenue is shown, and expenses associated with that particular event.
Jane made a motion to approve the July 2024 financial statements presented, and Christene seconded the motion. It was voted on and approved.
Events:
Kalama Event
There were 26 teams at the Kalama event. The kid’s que needs to have appropriate judging, relative to the skill level of the participants.
Black Diamond Event
There were issues with there being adequate space for the number of teams that participated. There were 21 teams. The load in took longer than anticipated, due to the narrow street. Aside from those issues, the facilities were great.
Enumclaw
The event will also include and CASI chili event and possibly a judging and cooking class.
Other:
Swag
We need to purchase shirts and hats to sell at Camp Korey and at other events. Jane will contact Rose Scattergood.
Promoting non-PNWBA events
We discussed cross posting of non-PNWBA events on the PNWBA’s Facebook page and other social media. We allow one posting of a non-PNWBA event on the Pacific Northwest BBQ Association Group page.
By-Law Changes
Dale discussed the current term limit rules. He will write up the proposed changes so that the board can review them.
Classes
We discussed having classes in conjunction with the Enumclaw event in September, and in October at Myrtle Creek.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made at 7:46 by Christine and seconded by Bill. The motion was voted on and approved, and the meeting was adjourned.
