Discussions:
Approve Minutes – Diane
A motion was made to approve the minutes of the May 28, 2025, meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made and seconded. The motion was voted on and approved.
Diane will post the minutes to the forum for membership.
Financials –
No report
The CD are up for renewal, and Diane made a motion to continue the CD’s at the current monetary levels and terms. Noel seconded the motion and it was voted on and approved.
Events Committee
McKinley Springs – Great event, organizer pleased with the results.
Burlington – We discussed the layout issues, the organizer gave us too much space to work with, so the teams were a little spread out. Need to put a token selling booth closer to the teams. The toke value needs to be lower than $3, so that teams can price items more appropriately.
Clearwater – The organizer is looking for teams to cook food for the employees. Regular vending will be on Saturday only and the teams keep 100% of the sales. There is a discount code for rooms, but the quantity of rooms is very limited.
Ellensburg – James Jones is busy opening a new restaurant, so he has not had the time to devote to getting this contest up and running. We are having difficulty finding head judges to attend the event. The event, along with judging class and pitmaster class will likely be cancelled.
Feed the Troops Fairchild – David Adams upped the amount requested for the event by $500, making it $4,500 total, because they lost a sponsor. Bill made a motion to approve the increase. The motion was voted on and approved.
Classes
Kalama Judging Class – It is highly recommended for board members and competition team members to get to a class if possible. Actually going through the process of the class and sitting in on a judging for a competition would be very beneficial as a competitor and board member.
Adjourn:
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made at 7:18pm by Sheldon, and Boogie seconded. The motion was voted on and approved, and the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be on July 30, 2025, at 6:30pm.
