Minutes from the PNWBA Board of Directors Meeting

Roll Call:

9 of 14 Members present for a quorum.

The President called the meeting to order at 6:37pm.

Discussions:

Approve Minutes – Diane

A motion was made to approve the minutes of the October 29, 2025, meeting. A motion to accept the minutes was made by Adam and seconded by Lance. The motion was voted on and approved.

Diane will post the minutes to the forum for membership.

Financials – Lance

We are awaiting the reimbursement from the Clearwater Casino for the Feed the Vets event expenses.  There was an approximately $1,000 adjustment to the PNWBA’s bill relating to the rooms and the banquet costs.  The $12,000 prize pool for the Clearwater event is partly paid for by the PNWBA.

The CDs bring in approximately $280 per month in interest income.

Events Committee

Berry Dairy Days, Burlington, WA – The Chamber of Commerce is going to pay their prize money for the 2026 event in December of 2025. They have also sent in their sanctioning agreement. The organizer would also like to add Sunday sampling to their event this year.

Clearwater/Annual Meeting – The dates for the 2026 event will be November 11-14. We will probably not have a judging class there in 2026 and instead focus on having a general membership meeting sometime during the weekend.

Lynden, WA – There is a new organization contact with the builder’s association that Bill is working with.  We need to make sure that the token sales roles and responsibilities are covered during the event.

Spring Fair - The Fair is encouraging us to also sample to the public on the load in days before the weekend if possible.  Trager Grills will possibly be a sponsor and have a BBQ celebrity show up during the event. There will not be a judging class this year at the event.

Backyard Events – There will be 4 backyard events planned for this year.  Sumpter, OR, Toppenish, WA, Pasco, WA and the last one has not been determined yet.

Sausage Making Demo, Buckley, WA January 10, 2026 - There will be a backyard sausage making class taught by Paul Kolodzinski.  The association will cover the travel costs of the main instructor, and one helper, including mileage, and one night hotel stay. The difference between the travel, meat, and any incidental expenses, and the revenue from the class registrations will be paid to Paul.  A motion was made to approve the event with the above stipulations by Bill.  Scott B. seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

New Business -

Elections – 26% of members have voted.

January 17, 2026, will be the in-person meeting at the Hotel Interurban in Tukwila, WA.

Adjourn:

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Doug C. at 7:52pm and seconded by Scott B. The motion was voted on and approved, and the meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting will be in person on December 17^th, at 6:30pm via Google Meet.
